Karl Åstöm ( his name changed to Karl Burman when his mother married Anders Burman but reverted to Åström when his mother and step-dad went to America in 1888.

Karl Åström, having heard the fate his older brothers met in the New
World, said to himself -- Better I should stay here in the Old Country. 

And so he did. He wed Sofia Vilhelmina Nilsson Lindmark b.1864, a daughter of  Zakarias Nilsson Lindmark b.1817 and Brita Karolina Nilsdotter b.1828 of Bläliden, Degerfors where they lived along with their eldest son Karl Reinhold Åström b. 1889
